Overview
The Orion Multi is a multi-sided electric fireplace built for rooms where the fire feature needs to read from more than one angle, such as a peninsula wall, room divider, or open-concept feature wall. It installs as built-in or wall-mounted, and can be configured as a 3-sided bay view, a 2-sided corner unit, or covered down to a single-sided front view depending on the project.
Flame Presentation
Three flame styles are available: a vibrant Hybrid look, a Wood setting with spark effects, and a cleaner Gas-style flame, each available in 9 color options for a total of 18 combinations with adjustable flame speed. A multicolor ember bed and downlighting add depth, and an ambient crackling sound effect rounds out the presentation. Flame and heat run independently, so the display can be used without warmth when that's preferred.
Heating
When hardwired to a 240V circuit, the heater is rated between 5,000 and 10,000 BTU, covering approximately 450 to 900 square feet depending on model size and installation. A built-in thermostat holds a set temperature between about 66°F and 88°F across two heat levels, and a timer can run up to 8 hours.
Installation
The Orion Multi installs indoors as a built-in or wall-mounted unit, operates vent-free, and can be fully recessed into a 9-inch deep wall or partially recessed into 2x4 framing. It can be plugged in or hardwired; hardwiring is required to reach the full heat output. The unit remains serviceable from the front after installation. CSA and UL certifications confirm the unit meets recognized electrical safety standards.
Controls
Wi-Fi connectivity through the Modern Flames app, the included remote, and integrated touch controls allow flame style, color, speed, and heat to be adjusted independently of a wall switch, along with day-of-week scheduling.
