Overview
The Opti-Myst 500 is a modular water vapor fireplace cassette built for custom fireplace projects where design flexibility matters as much as flame realism. At 20 inches, it can be used as a single compact feature or connected in series with additional cassettes for a longer linear installation.
How It Works
Ultrasonic technology turns water from an internal reservoir into a fine mist. LED lighting reflects off the rising mist to produce a three-dimensional flame and smoke effect, with no real combustion, gas, or venting involved. An ambient crackling sound adds to the presentation.
Customization
A media tray holds approved decorative media for a finished look, and an optional plumbing kit allows a continuous water supply instead of manual refilling. The RGB version adds multiple preset flame colors, custom color control through the Dimplex Flame Connect app, and adjustable flame width and pattern using included spacers.
Installation
Both non-venting, cool-touch operation and multi-cassette linking make this suited to custom builds rather than fixed inserts. An optional heater accessory is available separately for supplemental warmth, since the unit runs flame-only by default.
